For some us who have lived so long, we remember the torch we carried so bravely in the 60's and 70's. We remember our hopes and dreams for a better, more inclusive country and world. Sadly, we've seen those hopes and dreams vanish, to be replaced by apathy, disillusionment, cynicism, and hopelessness. While it is historic for a woman to run for president, it would not only be historic but heroic for a woman to pass that torch to someone who has the ability and insight to analyze situations, to understand the needs of the people, and realize that with common decency we can build a bridge forged by the ideals that our forefathers saw as self-evident.
As mothers and grandmothers we are joyfully in a position of electing an "American Son," Barrack Obama, who, with his wisdom and foresight, can pull together not only the American people, but prayerfully, in time, our world together.
