John Mayer has a cruise ship, and Martin Sexton's gonna play on it. Just not during the Rochester leg of the tour. Sexton, a Syracuse-born musician, attracts fans like Mayer with his mix of pretty, polished pop and raw acoustic blues. There's soul in his voice and playfulness in his style, as evidenced on his new album, "Seeds."
Before Sexton acquired a bio-diesel-equipped bus - in keeping with his goal to stay "green" on the road - he sang the Boston streets of Harvard Square, recording his first demo in a friend's attic. He also busked for awhile and, according to his bio, sold 20,000 copies of the demo that way. Well, goddamn.Martin Sexton
