PUBLIC DEFENDER: Donaher appointed

Published by Jeremy Moule on Feb 12, 2008

Tim Donaher has been appointed Monroe County public defender. Donaher was approved by the Legislature tonight in a vote straight down party lines, 15-14. Republicans control the County Legislature by one vote. Critics of the public defender search say the process was loaded with partisan bile and designed to exclude community and minority representation. Democratic Legislator Willie Lightfoot said he was ashamed by the process.

Donaher is an attorney in the Public Defender's Office and a contributor to the Republican Party.
