"Ghost Games," the new album from D.C.'s The Apes, is ghoulish and velvety. There's just no ignoring the majesty of that big-ass B-3 or the band's narcotic groove. The band is comfortable in its vintage psyche and antagonistic in its melodic oddity. Everybody digs a little weirdity, but it's gotta sound good. And The Apes sound good, baby. "Ghost Games" is the first album with the elastic, fantastic vocals of Breck Brunson.
