SHOW TUNES: Mandy Patinkin (2/7)

Published by Frank De Blase on Feb 06, 2008
If you're like me, you know Mandy Patinkin more as a swashbuckling Romeo bent on avenging his father's death. He's popped up on the little screen too, on shows like "Chicago Hope" and "Criminal Minds." But Patinkin's home is on the stage; he breathes and bleeds pure Broadway. He's got Emmys and Tonys on his mantle and he's even been known to shake some spear with the egg heads. What gets me, amidst all this, is his beautiful falsetto, with its lilt and a grace to rival any castrati. This stripped-down show will feature just Patinkin and pianist Paul Ford, so nothing will get in the way of his beautiful voice as it storms the castle.
