Sue Blumendale made shirts out of paper, added buttons and string, and created a 3-D art exhibit that will run for nearly a month at the Little Theatre Café. Simply called "Shirts," Blumendale's sewn paper sculptures are meant to reflect her memories of sewing along side her mother as she made the family's clothes. Ranging from plain white strips of paper to newspaper clippings, the shirts encompass a range of visual ideas, and are displayed in a way that resembles clothes hanging on a clothesline.
"Shirts" opens Saturday, March 8, and is on display at the Little Theatre Café, 240 East Avenue, until April 15. The opening reception is Sunday, March 9, 4-6 p.m. For more information visit thelittle.org.
