Yes, Freddy Cole is the brother of Nat King Cole, and the uncle of Natalie Cole. But, more importantly, he is among the top song stylists in jazz today, not to mention an excellent pianist. He just about owns standards like "Candy," but Cole has also kept up with more recent times, delivering wonderful treatments of tunes by Lionel Richie, Van Morrison, and Boz Scaggs. When he brings his quartet to the Clarion Riverside Hotel, it will be a rare opportunity to catch one of the true jazz greats in action.
