Lenny Kravitz "It's Time For a Love Revolution"

Virgin Records

It's been a while since Kravitz released an album and graced us with his signature combination of gritty riffs and catchy hooks. But his latest, "It Is Time For A Love Revolution," is worth the wait. "Love Revolution" kicks off the disc in typical Kravitz fashion, with the guitar punching out a groove that demands dancing, or at least a serious amount of foot stomping and head bobbing. Kravitz gets away from the in-your-face grooves on "Good Morning," a catchy, pseudo-ballad that is laced with 60's and 70's influences. Of course, some of the lyrics wouldn't be able to stand on their own, but with so much soul and rawness in the music, they won't need to. This album is a throwback to his early releases, rooted in the blues and classic rock, but performed in true modern-pop fashion.
