PUBLIC DEFENDER: NYCLU examining arrests

The local chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union has requested information from Monroe County about three arrests during a Legislature meeting. State Assemblymember David Gantt, the Rev. Franklin Florence, and Ray Scott were charged with disorderly conduct during a protest at a February Legislature committee meeting to interview candidates for public defender. The NYCLU is reviewing the meeting and the arrests for constitutional rights violations.
