I guess I was simply disillusioned when I made the trek to 17 Midtown Plaza in the heart of downtown Rochester everyday for the past 13 years, parked in the lot behind what I had been misdirected to think was a "bus station," and walked into that facility to work - where, by the way, my employer pays rent.
I wonder what downtown news beat Ms. Towler covers that she happened to miss all those big buses with names like Trailways, Greyhound, and RTS printed on the sides entering and exiting Midtown Plaza, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, transporting people in and out of Rochester.
I will not let on, though, that Rochester does not have a bus station, because all the folks selling tickets, handling freight, driving buses to destinations throughout the US and Canada, and booking bus charters to athletic events, ski trips, theater outings, football games, and the like would sure be disappointed to learn that their jobs were all just balderdash!
If City News would like to engage in some hard-hitting journalistic investigative reporting, stop by Midtown Plaza sometime.
