This will be the 31st time Rochesterians have put on the green, drank green, and felt green in the gills the following day. Beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, "The Spirit of St. Patrick" parade takes over East Avenue, beginning at Alexander, turns onto Main Street, and comes to an uproarious halt at Plymouth Avenue.
County Executive Maggie Brooks and Mayor Bob Duffy will co-grand marshall the event. Citizen of the Year Brian O'Connor, Community Leaders of the Year Joe and John Dady, and Business Leaders of the Years The Dougherty Family will also be a-float.
Prior to the parade, a St. Patrick's Day Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church. At 10 a.m. Johnny's Running of the Green ready-set-go's and at 10:30 a.m. a flag raising ceremony takes place at the County Office Building. For a full listing of celebrations visit rochesterparade.com.
