The University of Rochester's Miner Library is currently displaying pictures shot at close range - extremely close range. The images were all taken through the lenses on microscopes; it's art based on the things that make our world tick. Among the 20 pictures on display is the winning photo from the Olympus BioScapes Digital Imaging Competition, axons in a mouse's brain stem taken by Jean Livet, Ph.D. of Harvard University.
"Microscope Images" runs through April 30 in Miner Library at the University of Rochester's School of Medicine and Dentistry, 601 Elmwood Avenue. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-midnight; Friday 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m.-midnight. Call 275-4128 or visit olympusbioscapes.com for more details. -
