It's not every day you get to cozy up to the orbo, kind of a lute on steroids. Elegant and expressive in the hands of Deborah Fox, the stringed instrument plays a pivotal role in Pegasus Early Music's final concerts of the season. In a program titled "Myths and Mortals," you'll hear a flute sonata by Hebden, a set of lute songs (including the to-die-for "Fair, Do Not Your Fair Beauty Wrong" by Robert Johnson), and a set of songs by Purcell. But the most wonderful moments may occur when flutist Colin St. Martin and tenor Philip Anderson twine their voices in music of Campra, the intimate French
airs de cour, and the fluffy Pepusch cantata "Corydon." In the intimate salon of the Rochester Academy of Medicine, you'll be able to see all the frets, strings, and expressions up close.
