GVHC is a not for profit organization founded in 1928 as both a hiking and social club. The group has a reputation for being a friendly hiking and eating group. Schedules are published every 4 months or 3 times a year with weekly activities of hiking, biking, cross country skiing or kayaking. Optional carpools are available for out of town hikes. GVHC maintains a section of the Finger Lakes Trail which extends from Allegany State park of the Catskills.
