Eric: PS...go and listen to the original Led Zeppelin song. I think you'll have even more respect for how well Haley performed it....and Beyonce called it: such nerve to do it!
I absolutely love that Led Zeppelin song and haley NAILED it. I can hardly wait to hear it (again and again) on YouTube. I am the first to admit that I don;t know anything about country music.....but it seems very simple to me....and I thought Haley had to raise her singing- game far FAR higher than Lauren or Scotty had to.
The only one to give me goose bumps was Haley.
I think both Scotty and Lauren have great voices. I agree with the comment above that the 'country' vote will be divided. Does that mean, Haley might sail through? That would be wild and I would love it.
I would just like to add that I think the talent this year is huge. I also really like the personalities(I know it doesn't have anything to do with anything....but it does make the contestants endearing) Although, we presently have two C&W singers in the finals, overall, there has been a good cross section of musical genres which I have respected. I think the chemistry of this particular group of judges rocks! Randy: smartening up, Jennifer: beautiful & sweet . Steven: who knows what he might say and love the feather in your hair and your goof ball getting off on the tunes.
My big criticism tho is that the judges shouldn't be so positive (unless it is due)....they should be (nicely) pointing out weaknesses and giving advice on how to improve.
Haley...I'm in your camp!
Eric: Awesome job of covering this show. Thank you
Oh this is exquisite! I couldn't be happier. Haley made it through and James gone. I do think this final three deserve to be there. I totally think James should be going home, His vocals were mediocre and I was so tired of his performances. He did well....has every reason to hold his head high etc. Thank you American Voting Public. Who knew, You got it right!!!!!!!!!
Please be fair from now on. Judges , I am talking to you!
Andy: I stand corrected. You are absolutely right.
Eric: <3
...and that was just mean of Ryan to ask Scotty to pick which of his friends/colleagues were the bottom. You could tell Scotty was already very nervous before he found out he was safe.....to then expect him to point out who he thought was the weakest is too much. Shame on you Ryan.
Yeah, that was a surprise that Jacob didn't know what a sausage tasted like. As Haley would say:"Hmmm" What self-respecting.....but, I digress.
Hated all that nonsense of judge pimping, the cooking etc.
Jacob was the one to go, so I think the american public got that right.
I am Haley all the way. I love her voice, her look, her maturity, her bad ass etc etc etc.
Me, again. Somebody else made this comment and I thought there was some truth to it. They had noticed that Steven seemed to have lost a little of his love for James and for Casey. They wondered if this was a bad combination of meds or if he was jealous?
Thoughts????
Not that I didn't love Carole King at the time, but I was expecting a total snooze-fest night. Kudos to the contestants for turning it into a very interesting and entertaining night! Once again, I wish the judges would judge....give more useful advice instead of always finding the soft pat compliments.
Jacob-yeah your voice is good and it was a delight to see some more energy. Have to tell you though that your rhythm is weird, you really cannot dress and you;d best be prepared to go home this week. And hey! take it on the chin like a big boy.
Scotty-He looks like Alfred E. Neuman to me too.. I like a man with a deep voice and I cringed when I heard he was singing "You;ve Got a Friend". But ...he did an excellent job.
Lauren- Vocal was excellent.
James..killed it. I loved that he just sang with no fire and no drums etc. I liked the rock garage band party of the song.
Casey- loved him. God Bless him for finding a jazzy song to do too!
Haley---hated the headband too and the song and the strange arrangement. Her voice was awesome though.
Duets: Lauren was brilliant...but not with Scotty...could he have less sexual oomph? Casey and Haley ruled the night and they were adorable together. I hope this song helps with the voting public. James & Jacob.....yeah, I already said Jacob should go.
Ok Boys...i pretty much agree with all your comments. To my surprise, I enjoyed the judges this season in that I liked the way they functioned as a group. I also liked Randy showing some valid criticism instead of just 'dawging' everybody. JL is lovely and has done a good job. Steven is lovely and has done a bad job. Maybe he just needs to find a different side or something.
I msut comment on how "sweet' all the contestants appear to be this year. I am genuinely sorry when any of them have been voted off.....if feels like a loss somehow..
From a singing competition perspective though, this season has the problems you all have discussed. So few performances are out of the park. All of the singers need much more hard love judging.
I would hate for Scotty to win this. I agree that he has a huge voting audience and I also loved his group singing last night...would love to hear more of this. But generally he has done squat. Jacob just hasn't done enough. James......I don;t think he is good enough to win this and I would be dissappointed if he did. Casey, I love but really think it is the last standing women that techniquely are the best.

ACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
Haley was so exciting and she picked such an eclectic mix of music. I think she is the best!
Scotty and Lauren are too similar and I can already imagine just how boring the song choices will be for next week....the goofy cowboy and cowgirl swagger etc.
The positive spin is what an opportunity for two teenagers. And I am quite sure Haley would get all kinds of offers....and you are right....I could totally go to her concert.
