I thought that the anticipation for Cycle 11 couldn't get any greater. But I was wrong. Last week, when the CW unveiled the 14 new girls vying to lick Tyra's shiny bootheels, the bomb dropped that there were in fact only 13 girls among them -- one of the contestants was born a male. Isis, who appeared last year as one of the actual homeless girls in the homeless shoot, has been invited back to actually compete, and she's a man (baby). At least, she was -- I believe she's still pre-op, but I don't know for sure. I'm sure we'll get to the bottom of that particular issue right quick, because you KNOW Tyra can't wait to exploit that particular taboo topic.
The thing is -- and I feel mean for saying this -- but I don't expect Isis to stick around the competition too long. She's not exactly what you'd call particularly pretty. She's kind of like a fuglier version of S4's Lluvy (who was totally gorgeous, but her crazy exaggerated features looked like hell on film). But this remains a watershed moment for the show, which prior to Isis had a definitive born-a-woman policy. Hopefully Isis is only the first transexual in the both, because honestly, there are some fierce trannies out there who could stomp all over most of these bitches' runway walks.
