City Newspaper's Take Reviewed by Noelle d'Estries
Balsam Bagels is not your ordinary bagel shop. Not only does it have delicious bagels (voted best blueberry bagel by City in ’05) and homemade cream cheeses, but it also offers homemade soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, and bagel creations. Using only the best ingredients --- like Hebrew National hot dogs for "bagel dogs" --- the restaurant puts a twist on the traditional bagel, stuffings, and fillings. Sit inside and watch the bagel makers at work, or take a bunch on the road for everyone to enjoy.

The bagels are made right there in the store, as are all the soups and side dishes. Sandwiches come with a hearty portion of cold cuts, and the veggies on them are all fresh.

Bagels and sandwiches are great but try something unexpected... whole grain croissants.
