Kobay is an excellent little sushi joint (about 20 seats) with all the charms of Park Ave. In the summertime you can have your sushi and your sunshine too, with café seating outdoors. While the sashimi is of extremely high quality and the specialty rolls --- like the Park Ave Roll --- are equally delicious, the real treat here is the dessert rolls. Imagine sweet sticky rice infused with bananas and strawberries topped with chocolate sauce. (I can taste it now....)

Awful!!! By far the worst sushi I have had in Rochester! For starters, they don't have a clue how to make sushi rice; it's by far too sweet and they use long-grain Chinese rice rather than short-grain Japanese rice. We had the sushi sashimi combo; the quality of the fish was sub-standard for any place that sells food to the public. The octopus was tough and smelly; the yellow-tail was watery and nauseating; the tuna was stringy and even the eel was coarse in texture and inexpertly seasoned, and that item is usually store-bought in Rochester sushi establishments! None of the fish seemed anywhere near fresh, and all of it was inexpertly cut into large, square chunks without regard to grain or bias. In sum, a regrettable trip and at a price, for this area, that demands excellence. These people don't know what they're doing! Don't waste your money!!

Unlike my buddy Serpens, I actually thought the food was excellent and affordable. Their dinner trays and their salmon teryaki was amazing! My advice...try it for yourself, their sushi may not be expertly prepared, but the rest of the food was great! :)
