Long nights I've laid awake, thinking. "How could Tyra Banks make 'America's Next Top Model' any better?" Well, bitches and gentlemen, we may soon find out. The CW announced today that following this week's big "Model" finale (go Caridee! Or Melstank! Or anyone other than pimply-faced Eugena!), Banks will tide us over until 2007 with a two-week guest stint by "ANTM"'s spinoff, "Britain's Next Top Model." The show will air in our "Model"'s regular time slot, Wednesdays at 8 p.m., and will feature hyper-fast recaps of the Brit version's first two seasons.
This is very exciting primarily because everything sounds funnier with a British accent. (I mean, how else do you explain the popularity of "Benny Hill"?) From what I've seen, the models are more homely, and one can only assume they have bad teeth, eat terrible food, and repeatedly refer to soccer as "football."
Ultimately, doesn't matter. It's another opportunity to criticize clueless young women with zero shot of ever making it into the fashion biz as we binge on Haagen-Dazs in our love seats. Thank you, Santa Tyra!
