Looking for a departure from traditional children's theater offerings? Geva's Big Theatre for Little People has what you need.

Lost and Foundling, in its premiere run, follows Pryce, a young girl abandoned as a baby at the Mega Price-Mart and raised there by sales associates. In the same situation, some of us would be happy to idle away our days eating ourselves sick on pork rinds. Not Pryce. When she learns of the lost and found department on the western edge of the store, she boldly strikes out on an epic journey to find out if anyone has come to claim her.

Pryce's adventure is no night at the museum. Throw a bone to a rampaging T-Rex and he'll love you forever. But cross paths with the villainous Demanding Shopper or the Price Slasher and let's just say it's going to take more than a handful of coupons to save you.

Ultimately, Pryce's journey is one of self-discovery as she gains the courage to make an important decision about her future. After the performance, kids can discuss the play's themes during a question-and-answer session with the cast.

Experience this modern retail fairy tale, recommended for ages 7 and up, in Geva's intimate Nextstage Theatre on Saturday, January 27, at 11 a.m. & 2 p.m., and Sunday, January 28, at 1 & 4 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $9 for children ages 5-12. Kids under 5 not admitted. Tickets and information available online at www.gevatheatre.org, or call 232-Geva (232-4382).
