Strong - National Museum of Play's new exhibit, "Cyberchase - The Chase is On!" kicks off Saturday, June 2. It's based on "Cyberchase," the award-winning PBS math mystery cartoon featuring a team of curious kids and their cyberbird sidekick, Digit.

The "Cyberchase" gang uses math concepts such as place value, algebra, geometry, fractions, and probability to outsmart the villainous Hacker, who's attempting to take over the virtual universe. Think "Scooby-Doo" with a mathematical twist. Plus, these characters are much better role models. Daphne would plotz if she had to do math.

"Each activity station - including Control Central, Hacker's Grim Wreaker, and Poddleville - has a challenging interactive component. Math concepts are clothed in adventure. It's a very fun and glamorous approach," says Susan Trien, Strong's director of public relations.

As part of the opening weekend celebration, Matt Wilson, who plays Harry on the "For Real" live-action segments at the end of each "Cyberchase" episode, will greet visitors and perform on June 2 at 12:30, 2, and 3:30 p.m., with a photo op and autograph session after each performance. Digit will work the crowd on both June 2 and 3.

"Cyberchase" opening weekend activities are free with museum admission of $9 for adults, $7 for ages 2 -17, free for kids under 2. Museum hours are Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday noon-5 p.m. This bilingual (English/Spanish) exhibit runs through September 3. The National Museum of Play is located at 1 Manhattan Square. For more information visit www.museumofplay.org or call 263-2700.
