EVENTS: Asian-and-Pacific-American Family Day

The Memorial Art Gallery opens its doors to Asian- and Pacific-American families with its Asian Pacific American Heritage Family Day Sunday, April 20. The annual event includes a variety of kid-friendly activities while also celebrating the various cultures of the Pacific rim.
Activities at this year's Family Day include make-it-take-it art activities; music and dance performances by Bollywood Dance Mania, Chinese Dance Company, and the Korean-American Students' Association; martial arts demonstrations focusing on karate, aikido, and tae kwan do; puppet shows; talks on ikebana; storytelling by Rafe Martin; and international cultural displays.
The event runs noon to 5 p.m. at the museum, located at 500 University Avenue. Admission to the event is free. For more information call 276-8970 or visit mag.rochester.edu.
