RESOLUTIONS 2009

It's true that you can choose to improve yourself any old time. But it seems especially timely at the beginning of a new year. You've got 365 days to achieve your goals, but there's no time to waste.

Self-improvement can come in many forms. It can be physical - losing weight, quitting smoking, fixing your terrible posture (yes, you have terrible posture). It can be mental - striving to be more positive, promising to stop worrying so much. It can be spiritual - sorting out your beliefs, or vowing to give back to the community that has supported you all these years. The important thing is that you identify your problem areas, make a clear plan, and stick to it.

City's annual Resolutions guide won't give you all the answers, but you can find several stories with ideas for getting into shape, or getting out and living your dreams. And if you're looking for ways to improve your mind, check out City's directory of learning opportunities for adults on our website at rochestercitynewspaper.com.

Whatever you decide to improve, there's no better time than now. So good luck, keep the faith, and we'll check in again in 2010.

Please add The Chorus Of The Genesee to your music group opporutunities. We are the men's acapella four part harmony chorus. We sing songs from all eras and any man may join at any time. We perform at community centers monthly, have an annual show in May, perform singing telegrams for Valentines Day, an annual summer concert at Sodus point, and holiday performances around Nov. and December.
We rehearse Tuesday nights from 7-10pm at our own hall (Harmony House) 58 East Main Street in Webster, NY offering vocal & performance education in a friendly and fu(n way. Visit us at thechorusofthegenesee.org or call (585) 265-9540
