Although several headliners were announced months ago, the full lineup for the ninth edition of the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival was released Tuesday, March 30.
We already knew about Gladys Knight, Herbie Hancock, and Jeff Beck, but artists like Booker T and the MGs, Keb' Mo', John Pizzarelli, Trombone Shorty, the Amy Lavere Trio, and James Hunter, to name just a few, will join them in the East End for the festival, which will run June 11-19.
There are a number of repeat offenders this year, like Russian Tom Waits disciples Billy's Band - a huge hit at the 2008 festival - hipster godfather Mose Allison, chanteuse Jane Monheit, and former Rochester vocalist Robin McKelle.
The festival has also expanded, as this year there will be 10 Club Pass venues. Additions include Abilene Bar and Lounge (153 Liberty Pole Way), which will be home to roots and Americana music, and the Rochester Club Ballroom (120 East Avenue), which will host the Viva Italia Series, featuring native Italian and Italian American artists.
Club Passes are on sale now for $139 and grant access to all 180 Club Pass concerts. After April 2, the price increases to $154. Passes can be purchased online at rochesterjazz.com, through Ticketmaster (800-745-3000), or at the RBTL Box Office at the Auditorium Theatre (885 E Main Street).
Individual tickets to Club Pass shows will be available at the door at all venues for $20-$25. Ticket prices for the headliner shows at the Eastman Theatre range greatly. Check rochesterjazz.com for details.

Carol: Those tickets are on sale now. You should be able to buy them through Ticketmaster (I'm on the concert page now and it worked fine for me). For additional information check rochesterjazz.com.
