In just a few weeks school will be out for the summer, and the kids will have three months of no homework. That's a perfect time for them to learn something new, meet new friends - and stay out of trouble. With so many summer camps to choose from, kids really have the whole world at their fingertips. They can explore arts and crafts, sports, theater, science, and more, either during the day, or by spending a week or more away from home at overnight camps.
There are countless summer camps in the greater Rochester area. Below you'll find a list to get you started. Art Day Camp at the Mill July 7-Aug 8. Week-long sessions where kids can sketch animals, landscapes, cartoons, architecture, and gardens with charcoal, colored pencils, pastels, and paints. Bristol Valley Theater's 2008 Apprentice Program June 30-Aug 15. Kids learn theater techniques like improvisation, movement, acting, and set construction, and perform a full-length play. CampHochstein '08 Kids and adults are grouped according to age, and explore music and dance through a number of programs. "Music for Tiny Tots," little Mozarts, group classes using the Suzuki method, ballet classes, and more will get participants learning grooving all summer long. Ages 18 months to adult.
