- Dust off your cloaks, grab your brooms and head to Writers & Books on Saturday, July 11th for a celebration of all-things Harry Potter! In honor of the forthcoming, much anticipated film Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Writers & Books is holding a Harry Potter Movie Marathon and Magical Bash. Join us for an evening of film, food and fun as we explore the world of J.K. Rowling’s internationally loved novels.
Activities will include screenings of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix; a presentation by nationally-renowned Harry Potter commentator and author, Travis Prinzi; Harry Potter readings by acclaimed New York stage actress Alexa Scott-Flaherty; magical games and activities; and treats and sweets. This is an event for wizards and witches of all ages, and costume is encouraged.
One-hundred percent of the ticket and food sales will benefit Writers & Books programs and scholarships, including youth and adult classes, educational workshops and our youth scholarship fund.
