JAZZ: Grant Stewart (9/19-9/20)

If you listen to any local jazz radio at all, you've heard a lot of the great New York saxophonist Grant Stewart. He is a major presence on the albums of Mike Melito, Bob Sneider, and the late Bob Stata, all local favorites. Stewart has also released seven albums as a leader and, on the latest, "In the Still of the Night," he puts his own distinctive stamp on a variety of standards, including "Lush Life," "If Ever I Would Leave You," and the title tune.

Stewart plays Friday and Saturday, September 19-20, 8:30 p.m. at the Grill at Strathallan, 550 East Ave. Free. 461-5010.
