Mrs. Skannotto comes from a planet where slick dudes in porkpie hats shuffle into dance halls; on stage, superhero frontmen belt out tales of woe and last week's parties; oh, and the crowds dance. Skannotto verdantly carries the Third Wave torch - that's the mid-90's sing-along ska you wish they'd start playing on the radio again (I mean, it worked for 80's music). Armed with fully defined horns, ticking guitar, and rubber-ball bass, the boys of Skannotto lay an oil slick for dance floor skidding. Add to that the tin snap and crackle drums of Tim Boss, who'll count this as his last show with group, and you better have your sugared Wheaties and OJ beforehand. Mrs. Skannotto performs with Among Criminals, Sunny & The Sndwch Crckrs, Name Goes Here, Nevergreen, and Fringe City Friday, February 27, 8:30 p.m. at Montage Music Hall, 50 Chestnut St. $5-$8. 232-1520.

yeah these guys really know how to get ya moving on the floor. its nearly impossible not to skank a storm up for there faster songs. i dare you try its intoxicating. the best part of there shows ive found is the energy they provide the crowd. the band there playing with among criminals happens to be the best thing outta Philly since cheese steak sandwiches. i know theres nothing better in rochester.
