ZYDECO: Preston Frank and Big Daddy Zydeco (5/16)

Accordionist Preston Frank's musical lineage spans six generations; his great-great-grandfather began the family's involvement in the sounds of the backcountry swamps of Louisiana, and Preston is also the father of contemporary zydeco star Keith Frank. But while other members of his family were and are stellar musicians, Preston is also a shining light in the zydeco world, a link to the traditional Creole sounds of years gone by. Preston has stayed popular partially because of his work with upstate New York-based roots band Donna the Buffalo, and his current tour features the backing of Big Daddy Zydeco, a three-man ensemble composed of former Donna stalwarts Jim Miller, Ton Gilbert, and Jed Greenberg.

Preston Frank and Big Daddy Zydeco plays Saturday, May 16, 8 p.m. at Harmony House, 58 E Main St, Webster. $15-$18. 727-4119.
