FOLK: Marye Lobb (7/3)

On her 2008 independent debut CD "Finding Home," the music of Rochester native Marye Lobb fittingly embodies the many places across the globe that she's called home. After playing in Ireland's County Kerry, Lobb ventured across Latin America, where she absorbed the music of such cosmopolitan cities as Santiago and Rio de Janiero. That experience helps the 2008 graduate of Berklee College of Music blend her Celtic roots and American folk traditions with Latin rhythms and flavorings - she sings in English, Spanish, and Portuguese - on songs that explore the complexities of love and the importance of social justice. (Lobb also plays July 5 at Lovin' Cup and July 6 at Mez. See listings for details.)
