Consisting entirely of RIT students, Jack Swift fittingly enough concludes a five-week run of dates at RIT's Lovin' Cup, the same place where the group kicked off the dates last month. The band describes itself in jamband terms, but the prominence of horns lands Jack Swift much closer to the orbit of lite jazz. Clearly, though, Jack Swift is trying to create a distinct hybrid of several different styles. Frontman JC's acoustic guitar, for example, has definite folk and pop overtones which give the music extra dimensions for the horns to wrap around, and interact with in some pretty inventive ways. JC's lively harmonica playing recalls Blues Traveler in spots, but Jack Swift puts enough twists and turns in its overall sound to evade easy categorization.

I went to Jack Swift concert in Cleveland, Ohio at Wilbert;s it was off the hook, the sax player was excellent, the whole group did a good job and I will attend any concert that they may perform in Cleveland again. Their whole good did a great concert! Good luck and continue doing your (their) own style.
