Best known for hits like "I Feel For You" (a cover of the obscure Prince tune) and "I'm Every Woman" (itself covered successfully by Whitney Houston), Chaka Khan has maintained a constant presence on the R&B scene since she rose to prominence as part of the funk group Rufus in the mid-70's. Khan has tried her hand at several styles throughout her career, including jazz standards, dance/club anthems, as well as R&B, and has provided backing vocals on several other projects by a wide variety of artists. Though she's gone through her ups and downs, Khan is still a highly regarded singer with an easily recognizable voice, and a defining artist in the R&B arena.
