Blueswoman Bonnie Raitt and songstress Norah Jones like Richard Julian so much that they've helped the rapidly developing singer/songwriter accelerate his career. Raitt has provided much musical and business advice, including recommending well known producer Mitchell Froom to man the creation of Julian's latest CD, "Sunday Morning in Saturday's Shoes." Jones, meanwhile, has joined Julian in country band The Little Willies, co-fronting the outfit with him. Julian has garnered such attention with his insightful, observational songs, taking little details and turning them into compelling tales of human nature and modern-day life. On Friday, Julian will co-headline a show at Water Street with fellow tunesmith and frequent collaborator Jesse Harris.
Richard Julian plays Friday, July 17, 8 p.m. at Water Street Music Hall, 204 N Water St. $10-$12. 325-5600.
