PUNK: The Gaslight Anthem (10/7)

By Dale Evans on September 30, 2009

"My God that was good...Just tremendous." High praise coming from TV late night talk show host David Letterman. And while musical director Paul Shaffer may be a band's man, Letterman is a bit more personally discerning - many times leaving the stage during performances. That he made a point to cross it to bestow compliments to this band is equivalent to a musical career blessing. The Gaslight Anthem are Jersey's new favorite sons. Even The Boss has joined them onstage for a few. Although the lyrics are heartfelt stories, the delivery is anything but gentle. Murder by Death opens.
