CLASSICAL: Andrey Pisarev (11/1)

Russian pianist Andrey Pisarev has won many accolades, including first-place in the Rachmaninov Piano Competition (1983) and first place in the International Mozart Competition (1991; it was the first time first prize in the competition since 1956). The internationally recognized performer has visited Rochester several times, and returns for the second concert in Chamber Music Rochester's current season. The program includes performances of Haydn's "String Quartet No. 61 in D Minor" and Schumann's "Quintet in Eb Major for Piano and Strings, Op. 44)," plus the winning works in CMR's high-school and college composition contests. Juliana Athayde and David Brickman (violins), Melissa Matson (viola), and Stefan Reuss (cello) also perform.
