Electric Six is a sextet of guys who hail from Detroit, bringing with them a dance-rock sound that is full throttle and thoroughly satisfying. The group's albums are full of short, staccato bursts of songs that are filled with energy and usually, if not mostly, kind of nonsensical (lyrical sample: "Let's start a war/start a nuclear war/at the gay bar"). The group releases its sixth album ("Kill") in just seven years on October 20. Also on the bill are The Gay Blades, an indie rock duo from Jersey City, New Jersey that gained attention after appearing at the SXSW festival in 2007, and released its first album, "Ghost," to acclaim in 2008.
