Don't let the name fool you. Mark Stuart and the Bastard Sons, formerly known as the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, are simply traveling under a new alias. But the band, once endorsed by the legendary Cash himself, was never just a tribute act. The sound is an original deliverance of Americana soul, driven by the unmistakable sound of honky-tonk country twang with a subtle mix of rock and folk undertones. Now that the band has shed the Johnny Cash moniker, Stuart brings his entire body of work on tour, performing tunes from the old outfit alongside songs from his newest album, "A Bend in the Road."

This was a wonderful concert, these guys were terrific musicians and charming gentlemen, too. Y'all missed a good one if you missed Mark Stuart and the band. The Cd is great, too. Roots, americana, whatever you want to call it, I have been missing Dwight's classic rockabilly style and now I have these guys!!
