Buffalo's The Headers play songs about girls, hot rods, guitars, and why we long for all three with terminal determination. The playing is stripped and polished down to rockabilly's bare-boned beauty. The trio knows that if you add too much to the mix it ain't bad, but it ain't rockabilly. Guitarist Bobby Lebel picks tight and clean a la Chester and a la Lester, with just enough slap-back and inner rhythm that hits you from all sides when riding atop the upright bass and drums. Good stuff, baby.
