Maybe it's just my Catholic upbringing, but I love some good organ music, and this month's installment in the Eastman at St. Michael's series is sure to deliver. The series, which is a collaboration between St. Michael's and the Eastman School of Music, showcases different performance majors from Eastman and provides the public with an opportunity to experience chamber music in a beautiful space. This month the featured student is Daniel Aune. Aune is very familiar with St. Michae'ls - he is church's director of music and organist, and has appeared with in the Eastman/St. Michael's recital series before. Aune came to Rochester in 1999 from his home state of Minnesota to begin his undergraduate studies at Eastman. Now a doctoral student, Aune has been studying organ since the age of 15, and has been a prizewinner at competitions in California, Indiana, and New York.
Eastman at St. Michael's: Daniel Aune takes place Sunday, December 27, 2:30 p.m. at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 124 Evergreen St. Free. esm.rochester.edu.
