HIP HOP: MC Lars (12/5)

For those of you who divide your time between living in Compton and living in the World of Warcraft, do yourself a favor and check out MC Lars. The self-proclaimed "post-punk laptop rapper" will satisfy your craving for nerdy pop-culture references and banging beats at the same time. Despite his usually goofy subject matter, Lars is also able to express his serious side on such tracks as the new single, "Twenty Three." His originality and versatility paved the way for the niche genre known as "nerdcore," and a wave of similar artists who were waiting patiently for a torchbearer. His most noble effort was certainly the track "Hot Topic Is Not Punk Rock." On behalf of everyone everywhere, thank you for saying what we were all thinking. K Flay also shares the bill.
