HOLIDAY: RPO orKIDstra: "The Snowman" (12/13)

After a successful showing last year, the RPO's orKIDStra series brings back the European holiday classic "The Snowman" for another show in 2009. The animated film based on the book by Raymond Briggs will screen as the RPO, conducted by Michael Butterman, will perform the whimsical score live; this year the orchestra will be joined by a selection of young male singers from the Bach's Children's Chorus. Also on the kid-friendly set list are the seasonal classic "Winter Wonderland," Jeff Tyzik's "Chanukah Suite," Leroy Anderson's "Sleigh Ride," and a holiday sing-along.
