Given the abundance of Christmas concerts this time of year, it can be difficult to find a holiday event that is unique. One option this year is The Christmas Ceilidh Band, a local group made up of some of the finest Celtic musicians in our area. The group formed in 2001, and since then has performed at venues throughout our area during the holiday season. Their concerts are called "ceilidhs" (pronounced kay-ley). These ceilidhs are more informal than a regular concert, and usually involve audience participation and dancing. So this Christmas concert will probably be a little more rowdy than that "Messiah" you're used to seeing. It's all for a good cause, benefiting the Serenity House of Victor, which provides those who are terminally ill with the opportunity to live out the remainder of their lives in a home-like setting.
