"Clap your hands everybody, if you got what it takes..." Because JFN Radio and Festival Prints are throwing a party, and it's all about the breaks. Hosted by local celebrity MC Nikal Fieldz (whose rhymes are much better than my own), this jam is bringing all the elements of hip-hop together: breakdancing, graffiti, MC'ing, and DJ'ing. The evening starts with a breakdance competition at 6 p.m., but it doesn't stop there. Local graffiti writers are donating artwork that will be raffled off. Twelve DJs from all over the country are coming into town to keep things funky, including Chris B from Orlando and Detroit's Nimbus. Call the info line for discount presale tickets, or if you think your up-rocking and pop-locking is the best, to register for the competition.

Keep The Breaks Alive takes place Friday, January 22, at 6 p.m. at Dubland Underground, 315 Alexander St. $3-$18. 709-4719.
