If you're looking to really impress your date this Valentine's Day weekend, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra practically guarantees class, passion, and romance with its "Four Last Songs" program. Brit Justin Brown is the guest conductor for the show, which features soprano Twyla Robinson in the titular Strauss creation. Also on the bill are selections from Strauss's "Don Juan," a tone poem meditating on the legendary lover, as well as Schumann's Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major. Definitely more memorable than chocolates or roses.
RPO: Four Last Songs takes place Thursday, February 11, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 13, 8 p.m. at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre, 60 Gibbs St. $20-$60. 454-2100, rpo.org.
