Group founder Ernie Hasse got his start with the long-running and well-known Cathedral Quartet. When the group dissolved Hasse struck out on his own, enlisting three other men to form Ernie Hasse & Signature Sound, a gospel/vocal quartet that prides itself on spreading its message throughout the country. The group is known for its Southern gospel style, and has achieved much acclaim; it won a Dove Award for the song "Reason Enough," and the album "Dream On" was nominated for a Grammy. A traditional vocal quartet, Ernie Hasse & Signature Sound blends contemporary ideas and messages with a classic 1950's vocal style for an inspirational package.
Ernie Hasse & Signature Sound plays Saturday, February 6, at 7:30 p.m. at Roberts Wesleyan College, 2301 Westside Dr. $18-$25. 594-6008.
