Festival favorite Lotus is coming to town, and bringing a traveling act with it. No, it's not a circus, but between songs that jump from atmospheric improvisation to pulsing club beats and a light show to match, you might feel like you're seeing five acts in one. Lotus is touring in support of its latest release - "Oil on Glass/Feather on Wood" - which embodies the band members' various sonic personae. The band exists in the realm of the instrumental, taking the best parts of trip-hop, rock, and dance music and stretching them to their limits. Lotus seems less interested in making you think - this band would rather make you feel. Openers Filthy Funk tend to agree.
