The Dexateens are creeping up on the national stage, having performed at the 2009 Austin City Limits Music Festival, while the band's most recent studio album was co-produced by Patterson Hood (best known as a member of the Drive-by Truckers). Woody Dodge will also contribute some locally grown alternative rock to the evening's entertainment. These two bands produce sounds that complement each other, emphasizing alternative rock and country styles that appeal to a broad swath of listeners. The show benefits PRALID, an agency that supports area residents with brain injuries and/or developmental disabilities.

The Dexateens play Saturday, March 13, 8 p.m. at The German House, 315 Gregory St. $20-$25. 442-6880.
