The Mike Baggetta group is led by an excellent guitarist whose eclectic style features bold legato runs punctuated by sharp chord inversions. But the group is really an all-star quartet, showcasing the imaginative approaches of tenor saxophonist Jason Rigby, bassist Eivind Opsvik, and drummer George Schuller. Baggetta's tunes are innovative enough to have won him an ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award. In the hands of these musicians, each one becomes an evocative journey.
