The soothing, sensual vocals of young Bachata sensation Prince Royce will grace the stage at the Water Street Music Hall on Saturday. The rising star is a fresh new face on the Latino music scene and his solo act is among the top of the Tropical charts. This week's show is the opening of a summer-long tour that will travel to South America and Europe. Prince Royce mixes his influences seamlessly and pays homage to Ben E. King with his bilingual cover of the classic soul tune "Stand By Me."
Prince Royce plays Saturday, July 10 at 10:30 p.m. at Water Street Music Hall, 204 N Water St. $20-$40. 325-5600

Prince Royce is without a doubt the NEXT big thing in the Latin scene. Many thought that Bachata would die off in the public eye as soon as Aventura decided to split up, and many expected for Romeo Santos to carry the mantel, yet Royce has all the gifts to not only be as good as Romeo but surpass him. At only 20 years of age, his self titled debut album in my opinion not only delivered three classic songs in Stand By Me, Carazon Sin Cara, and Tu Y Yo but 10 tracks that fuse R&B, and Hip Hop which in an ironic twist the result is a classy Bachata style. He is the truth and the future.

Agree 100% wit sky. This dude is the truth. I love "Mi ultima carta" and also "rock the pants" got a nice beat to it and im feeling the words of that song. Prince Royce if he doesn't fold under the pressure is gonna be the next big thing and bachatas not diminishing its growing. Aventura paved the way for that new style and groups like Carlos y Alejandra and Bachata Heightz as well as Prince Royce are stepping up to the plate. Future of bachatas looking bright... cant wait to see with what he comes up with next.
