Indie rockers Vampire Weekend have achieved some very un-indie accomplishments. The band's latest album, "Contra," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart in 200X, and the band's self-titled debut release recently went gold. The band mixes in Afro-Cuban, almost world beats that add color while not detracting from the more cosmopolitan - sometimes new wave-y - drive. This is where Television might be today. Beach House and Dum Dum Girls open.
Vampire Weekend plays Friday, September 10, at Main Street Armory, 900 E Main St. 7 p.m. $32.50-$38. ticketmaster.com.
